Vaults
A vault is a folder of files, encrypted here, versioned like git, that you can open again, add to, and share read-only. The vault key stays on this device; the read key is the one you hand out. Anyone with the read key can also sgit clone it on a laptop.

How a vault differs from a transfer
| Transfer | Vault | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | one file, uploaded once | a versioned tree of files |
| History | none; there is no second version | commits, with messages |
| The reader gets | the whole file, or nothing | any single file, without the rest |
| Lifecycle | expires, caps downloads, can be revoked | lives until deleted |
| The credential | a key in the link | a read key, derived one way from the vault key |
| Reach for it when | a thing is handed over once | a thing is read repeatedly, updated, or browsed |
